Spiritual Counseling

Yes, it really is possible!  Non-judgmental, yet distinctly spiritual or faith-based counseling is available in Lynchburg, VA!

We understand that it is difficult to approach the intersection of God, church, spirituality, and faith, without also expecting to find some form of judgment or criticism.  So many people have been wounded by church or relgiosity.

We understand.

And that’s why our therapists take care to approach your situation with a real sense of compassion, caring, and non-judgment.  We know the last thing you need when you’re hurting is to feel attacked.

Many research studies have shown that faith and  spirituality helps persons overcome difficult life issues, and that people of faith live longer, more fulfilling lives.

At The Change Group, we believe it is important to be respectful to our clients’ faith and spiritual beliefs.  For clients of the Christian faith, The Change Group currently has Lynchburg Christian counselors specifically trained to integrate Christian faith and beliefs into the counseling process.

Some of our Christian counselors are members of the American Association of Christian Counselors, and have even written for publications including Christian Counseling Today magazine and Full Spirit Magazine, and have presented at professional Christian counseling conferences across the nation.

If you are looking for Christian counseling, you can be rest assured that the Christian counseling offered at The Change Group is Christ-centered and Biblically Sound.

What if I am agnostic?  What if I believe in God, and live by spiritual principles, but don’t go to church?

The Change Group is happy to help you as well.  We take your spiritual position seriously, and would love to work with you just where you’re at.  The American Psychological Associations ethics codes mandate that counselors never impose their values on clients, and this includes religious ones.  At no time will we try to make you feel uncomfortable, or to recruit you for church or other involvement.  We believe you have a right to feel the way you do about God, religious, and faith matters, and don’t want to infringe upon that.

We respect you.
